We are delighted to launch a new series on the social and political History of the Cameroons, focusing especially on the two regions formerly known as the Southern Cameroons. This series will feature important works on the social, economic and political developments that shaped the historical trajectories of the British Trust territory that eventually united with La République du Cameroun in 1961 in order to attain its independence. Dr Walters Nkwi, an eminent social historian at the University of Buea, Cameroon will lead this series as the general editor.
