Born in Cameroon, Divine Fuh holds a PhD in social anthropology from the University of Basel, Switzerland. Dr. Fuh has taught anthropology at the University of Basel, Stellenbosch University, the University of the Western Cape, and at the University of Cape Town. He has held fellowships at the University of Brasilia, the Centre for Modern Oriental Studies, and the University of Tokyo. Dr. Fuh has published on youth and urbanity in African cities. His current research focuses on precarity, agency and the politics of suffering and smiling. Besides his scholarly work, Fuh has trained in and has experience in publishing. He currently heads the Publication department at CODESRIA in Dakar, Senegal.
