Robert Nanche Billa

Robert Nanche Billa holds a PhD in Economic Sociology from the University of Douala. He is a senior lecturer at the Department of Sociology, Anthropology and Social Sciences for Development at the University of Maroua. His research has focused on the measurement and determinants of urban poverty. He has published over ten articles and book chapters on age, gender, family, income, education, marital status, occupation, religion as determinants of urban poverty. Equally, he has worked on other aspects of sustainable development such as human rights abuse and social movements, protest march restrictions and the use of social media in the Anglophone Crisis in Cameroon. He has also published scholarly articles on conspicuous consumption, statistics, environmental and agricultural organisations. He is a member of aging and social change research network based at the University of Illinois Research Park and the International Union for the Scientific Study of Population (IUSSP).
